Are you usually seen as the ‘strong one’- the person others turn to for help and support? Does your appearance convey confidence and self-assurance, but inside you find yourself struggling and overwhelmed?
You may have lost a loved one either recently, during the pandemic, or some time ago and you are finding it difficult ‘holding it altogether’. Is this sense of unease affecting your eating or sleeping patterns, are you irritable with those close to you, or feel anxious about any further changes?
If you know that deep down to just keep going is no longer working, then maybe it is time to take that first step towards finding support to mourn the loss of the person who died.

I have been a counsellor for thirteen years, after working in a college as a learning support assistant I noticed how the students’ often chaotic and at times traumatic backgrounds hindered their education which led me into training to be a counsellor. I did my foundational courses at West Kent College, moving onto a college in South Norwood to do my Diploma in Integrative Counselling awarded by the CPCAB. I received my accreditation with the British Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors (BACP) 2018.

My approach integrates the psychodynamic with the person-centred and cognitive therapies which I believe offer insight and understanding into how we develop and relate to each other. I look at how the past impacts the present and I believe this approach offers a way forward for you to reach your full potential.
I think the relationship between the client and myself is key to the work of the therapy in building trust and safety.
I work at your pace, step-by-step, to help you gain insight into those triggers that may be causing you distress. These insights are important in dealing with unresolved events from the past.
I offer an initial free 15 minute phone consultation to allow us to have a talk about what is bringing you to counselling and to give you an opportunity to ask questions.
Fees:
I see clients face to face in one of the counselling rooms in a community centre/church. There is free parking and a lift on the ground floor for mobility access. There is a large entrance to the building with facilities on the ground floor.
